Totally bummed that TDK didn’t get a Best Pic, Directing, or Music (seriously?!) nomination—but other than that, it did fairly well for itself!

I agree with Steph. DK was not only an amazing film, but it’s the only movie of 08 that stayed with me, weeks after seeing it. It had a huge impact on me. It’s unlike any superhero movie or any movie I’ve seen in years. That being said, It’s pretty obvious now that Slumdog Millionaire will win best director and picture.

Super snubbed on best pic, but at least Ledger got nominated. Definitely agree with you O, Slumdog is getting best director and picture. Was also surprised to see that TDK didn’t get nominated for best costume but oh well.

The only movie that is up for best picture that I’ve actually seen in Benjamin Button, which was a great movie. I really want to see all the others on that list before the Oscars come around, so I don’t really have much to say regarding that category right now.
I think it’s great that RDjr. got a nom. The Academy usually stays away from comedies and it’s a surprise to see an actor get a nomination over a comedic performance. He did a great job in that movie too but Ledger should and deserves to win hands down. I’ve told my husband repeatedly that when I watched TDK I didn’t see Ledger I saw the Joker. I never saw an actor pretending to be a character.
