With two HUGE announcements this week, I think the gaming future is looking very bright.
—BIOSHOCK 2—
Just a few days ago Bioshock 2 was announced, and with that came much rejoicing. Not much more info came along with the announcement other than they are shooting for a quarter 4 2009 release and that it is not being developed by 2K Boston (the guys who did the first one) but by 2K Marin who is supposed to have some of the guys from the original Bioshock team on board. No news yet if it will be Xbox 360 exclusive or if it will be available on the PS3 as well. More Big Daddies mean more fun for all.

—MARIO KART WII—
Mario Kart Wii’s release date was just announced as well…April 27th. That date look familiar? Yep, same week as GTA 4. Don’t know if Nintendo is being incredibly stupid with this move or incredibly smart. We will see. I do know that my Nintendo fangirl-ism will be put to the ultimate test.
Mario Kart Wii will come with the Wii Wheel, but for the picky ones of us outta the bunch, Mario Kart Wii’s controls will also be compatible with the Wiimote with or without the Wheel, Wiimote with Nunchuck, Classic controller, or with the Gamecube controller. Now we all can have our cake and eat it too. Also, Mario Kart Wii will feature 32 courses, 16 new and 16 classic courses, the ability to play with up to 11 other racers online, 10 battle arena’s, the option to race as your virtual Mii or, for the first time ever, the choice between racing with go-karts or motorbikes. This looks like yet another HUGE hit for Nintendo and the Wii! Score Nintendo!

I personally am waiting for BioshockKart. Race through a creepy underwater city on zombies with wheels attached to them while launching plasmids at the Big Daddies and Little Sisters you’re racing against!

I pre-ordered Mario Kart Wii when I picked up Smash Bros Brawl. Mostly cause if you pre-ordered it, you would get a steering wheel for free when you pick it up.

What kind of effect would a spiked turtle shell have on Big Daddy?
Answer: NONE.
