We need your help to create a new web series about gamers just like you!
On Saturday, July 18th, from 2:00 to 6:00pm CENTRAL Time, we (the creators of GAM3RS: the Play) will be shooting in-game footage using Game-Cam and we need “extras” for some epic battle scenes. This footage will be edited into a live-action pilot that has been requested by producers at several major networks, including G4, MTV, and NBC.
If you’d like to be involved, here’s what you need to do:
STEP 1: Create two characters on the Scryers RP Server. One Alliance and one Horde. (If you only have time to make one, Alliance will be more important to the shoot).
Alliance – Choose from human, dwarf, or gnome.
Horde – Orcs, trolls, or undead only.
STEP 2: Level your character(s) to around 15. (This is WoW, it should only take you a couple hours, tops!) Make them look awesome.
NOTE: Comment in this post if you want to find other participants to keep you company while you level.
STEP 3: List your race, class, and characters’ names in the comment space below (we’ll use this comment space to relay messages and to answer questions about the shoot, so please check back often). We will send you 1 Gold each to join the guild “Knights of Albion” (Alliance) and “Enemies of Albion” (Horde). We’ll be using the guild chat channel to type directions to all the extras on the day of the shoot.
STEP 4: Camp your Horde character in the Undercity. Camp Alliance anywhere (on the day of the shoot, we’ll have summoners there to bring you to the “set”).
STEP 5: Be very prompt the day of the shoot (note that it’s 2:00pm CENTRAL time). We’ll begin summoning right away. Latecomers may have to wait until we’re done with a scene or two before we can summon them.
On the day of the shoot, we’ll begin summoning guild members in alphabetical order. Please only use the guild chat channel for essential questions. It will help to disable all other chat channels (i.e. trade, general, etc.) so that you don’t miss any directions from the production manager.
I want this to be a really fun time for everyone. We’ll be posting the trailer on our website, gamerstheplay.com, mid-August so you can see your characters in action. All extras will also get a shout-out and special thanks credit as well.

DHC: Thank you for your sword! Danny, we’re based in the U.S., so the Scryers may not exist in the EU. Can anyone else answer this?

So, we have our first change in plans. Instead of creating two guilds for the shoot, we’re just going to communicate through two devoted chat channels. So when you log in your Alliance on Saturday, type “/join Knights of Albion”. That will still give us a list from which to summon people. When some of us switch to our Horde characters, we’ll use “/join Enemies of Albion” Again, these channels will be used by our production managers to give directions to the actors and the actors to ask questions if they need to.
Still list your character names here, though, so I can send you some funds for leveling.

Thank you to EVERYONE who helped out (especially William Haley) to make this shoot possible. You guys are made of awesome and I really hope that some day soon you’ll be able to say, “Oh, so you watch GAM3RS?
