I’ve been attending the Final Fantasy XI Fan Festival since it’s first trip to the States in 2006. The Festival is the place to get a first look at new content, attend a Q&A with developers, and team up with other players from around the world to experience new jobs and areas. This year’s event took place at the Renaissance Hotel in Hollywood, CA to celebrate FFXI’s three new patches; A Shantotto Ascension, A Moogle Kupo d’Etat, and A Crystalline Prophecy.

Some sad news to bring you guys. Jeff Freeman, former lead gameplay designer for Star Wars Galaxies, has passed away due to tragic circumstances. Freeman worked for Sony Computer Entertainment until late 2006. As an avid SWG player from beta through 2004, I can say that my heart goes out to not only Jeff’s families but to his co-workers and to all the players of the game who enjoyed his work!
