With all the negative media hype surrounding the video game culture, it is always refreshing to see or hear about something that breaks the downbeat mold. Recently Adam Sessler did an interview with Lawrence Kutner and Cheryl Olson, the authors of Grand Theft Childhood: The Surprising Truth About Violent Video Games and What Parents Can Do. Contrary to the negative nature the tile of the book implies, the text is fair and balanced result of an in-depth study into the social effects of video games on children. One of their most staggering results – kids who don’t play video games are more at risk for deviant behaviors.

Finally, my prayers have been answered, Silent Hill now has an official name AND most importantly, a release date! Silent Hill has been one of my favorite survival horror games since the very first Silent Hill on the PS1. Silent Hill brought the terror and the gore that Resident Evil was lacking, it gave you nightmares, and it made you love it every step of the way! Even tho the last Silent Hill (Silent Hill 4: The Room) was a total disappointment, the next one in the series looks like it will make up for all that wasted time you spent on 4.

It comes as no surprise that The Sims franchise is one of the best selling games of all time. EA announced today that The Sims just reached the 100-million mark since it’s initial release in 2000. The series is sold worldwide in 60 countries with 22 different translations. The New York Times states that the series has generated over $4 billion for it’s publisher, Electronic Arts.

An unbelievable amount of talent, time and love went into this fantastic Nintendo Wii modification. The Super Mario Galaxy themed Wii is currently being auctioned on eBay, with 15% of the proceeds going to the Penny Arcade’s Child’s Play charity, which is a charity committed to collection donations of toys, games, books and cash for children in hospitals across North America.
