Cosplayers call them “crossplayers”, people who dress in costumes meant for the opposite sex. Borrowed from the term “crossdresser”, crossplayers are one of my favorite parts of this awesome community.
Recently, my clan started a fun challenge just for us girl’s to play on the Gamerscore Challenge to win a YEAR of gamefly. Essentially, me and 20 other girls will be racing each other to get the most points in 30 days. Me? I’m #11! (Wahoo! Go me!) For quite some time now, a movie version of American McGhee’s Alice has been in talks. Of course, when the talks started, everyone was excited - but I’d nearly forgotten about it until stumbling over some news just recently. Seems that the Alice movie is having problems with scripts, productions, and cast - and rumors going here and everywhere.
Freshly off of the Bungie site, there’s an announcement that McFarlane Toys is coming out with Halo 3 Series II figures. The series includes EOD, Scout, ODST, Mark VI, EVA, and CQB variants.
I am a recent graduate of the University of Minnesota, leaving behind college with a degree in Graphic Design and a minor in Journalism and Mass Communications. In my four and a half years in the program I somehow managed to make almost every project possible into something that related to one of my geeky hobbies. I created a Choco-Mog Sculpture, a Triptych wall-mounted Mario Brothers Tribute, a Nintendo Timeline Display, a board game titled “For Teh Win,” a Hero Gear Clothing Display, a Mii Family Portrait and even redesigned the 1988 Mario Brothers Board Game.

There are often arguments about whether video games as a medium qualify as art, but I doubt that many people have ever contested that the visual products created for and by video games are less than stunning. From the uber-realistic cityscape of Rapture in Bioshock, to the cell-shaded style of Viewtiful Joe, video game art covers the entire spectrum of what we consider aesthetically pleasing.
I was reading a gaming news site today where I came across the wonderful news that one of my FAVORITE games is coming out with a toy line. Not that it wasn’t expected but if pictures speak a thousand words prepare to get an ear full!
Her online name is Omi Gibson. She is a mystery to those on US soil. All we know of her is this: She’s Japanese, she’s beautiful, and she’s got one hell of a cosplay closet. From Metal Gear Solid to Ghost in the Shell, this awesome chick has an arsenal of jaw-dropping costumes at her fingertips. You cannot miss this.
