The first “out” comic book loving politician has officially become president of the United States. Is this a big deal? How do you feel this may impact his presidency? SOUND OFF!
The 44th president of the United States - Barack Obama - was sworn into office this morning amidst a bevy of applause, screams and tears. Never in our generation have we been privy to such an outcry of support and pride for a president-elect.
The Huffington Post, in November, posted an article which called out the fact that Obama collects Spiderman and Conan comic books.
His stance on video games has seemed to be a bit more negatively charged. I say negative in that it is never good to have anything bad about video games being stated in public. That said, I do tend to agree with Mr. Obama. Parents SHOULD take a stronger interest in what their children are doing and overdoing ANYTHING (video games included) is always a bad thing. He has, however, recently stated that he bought his daughters a Wii for Christmas. The first family now has the first game system. 
Kotaku recently came up with a Buyers Guide for Mr. Obama. Since there is now a video game system in the white house, it is our civic duty to help the President decide what is the best game for the future of the white house. Marvel recently released Spider-man issue #583 featuring Barack. 7-11 is selling Barack Obama water and even our local bakery is carrying Barack Cookies! What is next? iBama mp3 players?
So, how do you feel that a younger, hipper president will effect our nation? Do you feel that being brought up with a more “geek” perspective gives Obama any +1’s? SOUND OFF!

Liberals are good for our industry, but we’ll have to see how his tune changes when he needs to pull in favor after being blamed for the unstoppable economic crisis.
Still, if Hilary or McCain had taken office, we’d all be switching our controllers for Bibles and branded with a scarlet letter.
