The next Pilot Season comic came out today! Alibi #1, that is. Check out a review after the jump. And if you bought this comic already, let us know what you think!
Pilot Season: Alibi #1
Writer: Joshua Hale Fialkov
Artist: Jeremy Haun
Letterer: Troy Peteri
Design: Chaz Riggs
Editor: Rob Levin
Covers: Jeremy Haun
Summary: “The perfect killer always has an airtight alibi. But can anyone be in two places at once? John Stephens can. He’s often a suspect whenever a high-profile target is taken out, but he always gets off scot-free because he’s usually somewhere else, having the time of his life. How can he be responsible? The authorities may be fooled, but now someone knows his secret, and John is going to have to face the consequences.
From the people’s choice Joshua Hale Fialkov (Cyblade, Marvel Comics Presents) and artist Jeremy Haun (Civil War: Iron Man/Captain America, Chuck) comes this espionage thriller with a twist!”
Please keep your seatbelt on and remain inside the vehicle until it has come to a complete stop. Thank you, and have a nice day.
Is the ride over?
Because this comic is one big rush that doesn’t let you go until the very end, when it comes to a crashing stop.
This comic was great, needless to say.
The art (by Jeremy Haun) was cool and the feel of it definitely fit the comic itself. Now, I’m not entirely sure what was going on in this comic, but it kept me damn interested. The juxtaposition of the dialogue was a little hard to follow because it jumped around so much, and a lot of names were being thrown out there so it was a little hard to follow—but even so, this comic was pretty awesome.
Joshua Fialkov does a great job with the story and dialogue—and despite its juxtaposition with the art it was still enjoyable.
I definitely want to know more about this storyline and the characters, especially with the huge cliffhanger at the end. So Alibi’s definitely got my vote for the top two spots of Top Cow’s Pilot Season ‘08. I hope it gets the chance to truly shine.
Just two more Pilot Season comics left to show their stuff! In the meantime, you can check out a preview of Alibi #1 over at Top Cow or buy just buy the freaking comic yourself!
Lady Pendragon VS Alibi

Eh? Where’s the big red “X,” you say? Yeah, I couldn’t decide! Honestly I hope both of these comics get the top two spots.
Your turn: Which one’s better, Lady Pendragon or Alibi? And which comics—Twilight Guardian, Lady Pendragon, Genius, Alibi—do you think will take the cake? In other words … which are you rooting for?

I have a lot of mangas and comics to catch up on… school takes up so much of my time that I hardly get to do anything else. I’ve only been to the movies twice this entire year… so sad! I saw:
-Harold and Kumar (because of my brother)
-Ironman (because I reeeeally had to)
I’ve been buying comics/movies/mangas and they just sit there… begging for me to give them attention. I’m a bad owner!
