Zero-G CoverSummary: New mini-series by director/screenwriter Alex Zamm and up-and-coming artist Jason Badower (Heroes, True Blood)!

An international space race ensues when an asteroid containing enough precious metals to shift the balance of power on Earth is detected on a path through our solar system. When the U.S. Team arrives on the asteroid, they discover the remains of an abandoned alien mining camp. But when the U.S. ship is sabotaged and crew members go missing, it becomes clear they’re not alone on the asteroid. Stranded, the remaining crew members must band together to survive the monstrous inhabitants on the asteroid, find a way off the rock and save Earth which now sits directly in the path of destruction. In the process, they discover a deep dark secret contained within the asteroid. It holds the key to both their destruction and to their salvation. But unearthing it will change the fate of humanity forever.

Review: I just love a good sci-fi, and Zero-G doesn’t fall short. On the first page we meet Atom Weaver: geologist playing astronaut. No seriously. He’s launching into space to check out Asteroid Z-1492. Lucky guy.

Well, maybe not so lucky. Asteroid Z-1492 isn’t just a gold (and dozens of other valuable minerals and precious, rare metals) mine—it’s a well of Uranium-235 that could provide virtually endless nuclear power. Therein lies to problem: Asteroid Rush! Everybody with a spacesuit and his brother wants in, and things could get ugly up in zero gravity.

Accompanied by an interesting assortment of crew (with a few rather shifty members), Atom Weaver—the asteroid’s founder—is shot into space representing the good ol’ US of A. Well, he’s apart of one of two representatives, anyway: billionaire Bill Barron wants a stake, and he’s bringing along his rather attractive partner, Dr. Evelyn Sanchez—Atom’s ex-girlfriend.

Things only get worse when Atom and his group enter a cave in the asteroid—and find out they’re not alone … not in the human-sense, anyway. And just when you think about then would be a good time to high-tail it out of there, well … Hey, I won’t spoil it. :)

If you’re looking for an action-filled, exciting sci-fi comic to start fresh with, Zero-G’s got the goods! It’s bound to be a fun mini-series.
