Norman Osborn’s influence continues to sprawl as he decides to create his own X-Men team to keep an eye the others.
There’s one very good reason why fangirls will flock to their comic shops on Wednesday, July 8, 2009. Quite simply, it’s the first issue of DARK X-MEN: THE BEGINNING. Another X-book, you ask with rolling eyes? Sure there are a gazillion of them out there but how many have Namor in the shower? Exactly. Girls can be just as base as our manly counterparts when it comes to comics. Fans will also be reacquainted with the power-absorbing character Mimic. Dark Beast looks better than ever. I would love to see him in an animation. The preview leaves me quite curious about what Dark Beast is doing with an unconscious girl. Cheerily I add that the panel showing the Iron Patriot landing makes me laugh: “I’m Siiiiinging in the Rain. I’m Siiiiiinging in the Rain …” This book is broken into chapters with different creative teams so there will be enough variations to appeal to just about every fan. Plus I’m sure many of us are looking forward to seeing Dark Emma’s new costume.

I didn’t know Dark Beast was still alive. If he’s got someone unconscious, chances are he’s going to be doing some weird experiments on her. IIRC, he was the Age of Apocalypse’s answer to Dr, Mengele on acid. And I think he created the Morlocks after he moved over to the 616 reality.

Hahaha, I got to review an early copy of this exclusively via Impulse Creations, and it’s so funny—we both pointed out how much girls were going to like the issue. >:D

Oh AoA I miss you so. Then they did the mini series in the 00’s and killed it.
I wonder if they can make Dark beast cool again.
