Fans are probably well aware that Frank Miller’s comic-to-movie adaptation of Will Eisner’s The Spirit releases in theaters this Christmas. Dark Horse Deluxe, in an act of X-mas cheer, presents some awesome collectibles in anticipation of the Lionsgate film.
The Spirit tells the story of a former rookie cop (played by Gabriel Macht) who returns from the dead to fight crime in Central City. Dark Horse incorporates the noir style and exotic images of the film into a new streak of The Spirit-themed items—featuring a limited-edition and full-sized sculpted bust and statue, a gorgeous snow globe, and a cool LED illuminated journal.
First up, notable digital sculptors Kolby Jukes and Oluf Hartvigson created the 3D bust and statue of Denny Colt (aka The Spirit).
Only 750 copies of the bust will be available for worldwide distribution—so order fast!

In comics and a lot of other mediums, cities usually become a character in themselves. Central City is no different; this snow globe is designed to reproduce the dramatic visual effect—and, really, the spirit—of the city that screams (because his city screams, ya know
). Continuous snowfall is recurring in the Central City of the upcoming movie as well as Frank Miller’s own graphic stories.
The snow globe’s details focus on fire escapes and buildings, and one of the movie’s taglines functions as a rooftop sign. Sculptors of this piece were both Jukes and Hartvigson; there will only be 500 of these snowy spheres of fandom available.

120 mm glass sphere
$99.00
Coming late November
Lastly, Dark Horse Deluxe has also revealed a journal for The Spirit. Displaying the moody hero silhouetted against a snow-filled night sky, the cover features about a dozen lighted elements concealed inside. When the on/off switch is activated, the colored jewels embedded in the snowflakes around The Spirit create the effect of a streetlight on an urban street in winter.
The journal offers 128 pages for the owner’s use (movie review, anyone?). The film logo on the spine sheaths the spiral binding. The collectible will be available for distribution close enough to the movie’s release date, getting you pumped for your next superhero flick!

I think the movie is going to be good. I am kind of interested to see Miller’s actual take on the character and his first outing as solo writer/director and but I am glad of the art direction it is taking. I will be in line first day this movie opens up.
