When asked about his creations, Chronomorphs writes:
“I was inspired to build the mechanical earpiece after buying a Bluetooth earpiece and wondering how one would look if it were mechanical.
To build the piece, I used a found part of a rubber headset as the frame, then built up the inner piece using a mixture of Sculpey, vintage pocket watch parts, and a couple electrical pieces. I finished up by applying a few coats of acrylic and lining the inner piece with sueded leather. I also went about building a fully functional Bluetooth version, but the sculpey and metal gears interfere too much with the signal.
My upcoming projects are specimen jars containing mechanical/organic hybrid creatures and mechanical assemblages.”
I’ll never settle for a boring Bluetooth earpiece again!
