“Let the music play, down at Fraggle Rock!”
Variety is reporting that Weinstein Co. has hired Cory Edwards to write and direct the live-action Fraggle Rock musical, and of course the Jim Henson Co. will produce the movie. Ahmet Zappa will be one of the film’s executive producers. Producers are asking popular bands to lend their talents and write songs for the musical.
The movie will take the core characters outside of their home in Fraggle Rock, where they interact with humans, which they think are aliens. The show premiered on HBO in 1983, ran five seasons and was broadcast in more than 80 countries.

Is anyone else giddy over this announcement?! Fraggle Rock was one of my favorite TV shows growing up and the ONLY reason we even had HBO! Who else is really excited for this movie?

Awesome! Sad Henson is gone though. He voiced Uncle Travelling Matt.
Please no CGI Doozers! I’m 35 now and still have no idea how they made them walk, talk and move in general. Don’t ruin the magic.
