It’s been a long time coming but GEN has finally commandeered the awesome “Music of Video Games” channel on YouTube. We will be updating it on a regular basis starting with entry #501, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, which just happens to coincide with the release of said game on XBLA today.
Each new entry will be posted on YouTube and GEN, and is sponsored by our good friends at Goozex. You can easily find any game featured in the Music of Video Games series from here on at their site, and since MvC2 goes for roughly $80 on eBay, paying only $1 seems like a decent discount.

Marvel vs Capcom was one of my all time favorite games! Psylocke, Venom, and Storm (my third changed a lot though lol)

I haven’t played this game in a VERY long time, so the music actually surprised me a bit. Some of it really reminds me of Sonic tunes. But it’s all good! I am going to pick this up this week I think!

@Amber: Yeah, the music is actually somewhat annoying. They went very generic and jazzy which I’m not sure is appropriate for a game of such awesometude.
If anyone else nabs this game on XBLA we should all have a friendly GEN tournament this weekend…for money.

Very excited about this addition to GEN! As a game music buff, it’s always been fantastic to go through and listen to all of the old gaming soundtracks. I look forward to many more of these compilations to come! I’m sure Video Games Live (www.videogameslive.com) will enjoy these little recaps as well!

Love love love Marvel vs. Capcom 2!! I still have it on my Dreamcast. ^-^ I always loved the jazzy music - catchy, and different than most fighting games..

Wow, I must have played that game a million times and never realized how awful the music is. The nostalgia, however, more than balances the equation.

@Kannaya I didn’t have fun playing this at the Capcom booth, since I wasn’t used to that damn controller, but I played the demo on the PSN with my sister and we couldn’t stop laughing our asses off, it was ridiculously fun.
