That’s it. Game Over…GTA 4 just made it to the best selling media of all time catagory, and yes, that includes DVD and CD sells.
On release day for GTA 4 the game sold 3.6 million copies(that’s a lot people!) but now a week later, GTA has sold over 6 million copies and has reached a record breaking total of $500 million dollars! Making Grand Theft Auto 4 the best selling media of all time! (Second place is Halo 3 with $300 million after the first week of release.)
Needless to say, Rockstar and Take-Two are sitting pretty right now, even with the negative press they have been receiving over the games sexual and violent content. I think this is just a sign of times to come, this is gamers letting developers know that this is the type of games we gamers want, dispite what mainstream media thinks.
Grand Theft Auto 4 completely deserves such a high honor, Rockstar really went above and beyond with this newest installment in the series. GTA 4 has excellent graphics, addictive gameplay, hilarious voice actors, and most of all an incredible writing team who really made GTA’s characters and story shine above all other games of this nature.
This is how you make an excellent game and now they have money and numbers to prove it!

Not surprising there. I knew it would eventually reach a pinnacle in sales. Just reached it faster than I even thought.

Talked to some retailers, Modern Warfare 2 already has more sales, solely off presales, more so than Halo 3 and GTA 4 together.
