A yearly tradition has now emerged. May I present the 2009 Gamers Day poem.

GAMERS DAY
‘Twas the day after Christmas… And all through the house…
All the gamers were playing with controller and mouse.
The new games were stacked by the TV with care
In hopes that more gamers soon would be there
The n00blings were gathered ’round the warm 360
Beside the blue glow of the resurrected Wii
PS3 had Uncharted - They were on the 5th act
While the DS was glowing with Zelda:Spirit Tracks
When out in the den there arose such a clatter
I put down Afrika to see what was the matter.
Away to the den I ran with a mission
I tripped over a box labeled “ACTIVISION”.
The TV was giving off a warm friendly glow
And I heard a crowd cheering for what? I don’t know
When what should my wondering eyes come to find
But another Guitar Hero; Van Halen this time.
As I heard the song Jump drift through the air
I saw them pop in Modern Warfare
My brother walked by me with a game in his hands
And was begging them all to play Borderlands
The Mario Bros were alive once again
and on the PC Dragon Age; Origins
Assasins Creed 2 was ready to play
Which meant they couldn’t play Asylum today
I glanced at the systems in front of me
And wondered how lucky I could possibly be.
I ran up to my laptop to blog while they played
And to wish all my friends a Happy Gamers Day!

Cute poem! Sadly I couldn’t participate in Gamer’s Day… no new games.
