Just about every cosplayer I know wants to make or has made wings. But for someone who has never attempted wings, the task can be daunting. To help out other cosplayers, I filmed every step of the process while I made my own feathered, semi-folding wings for a Van Fanel cosplay.
Just about as soon as I started cosplaying, I wanted to one day make wings. When I finally resolved to take on wings, I knew exactly the character I wanted them for - Van Fanel of Vision of Escaflowne. His giant angel-like wings are just too cool to NOT cosplay one day.
But I found out as soon as I started researching that it wasn’t going to be easy. I literally spent months doing my research and still had no idea how to make wings. Then, on the very last day of school, my roommate offered me her broken clothes-drying wrack - and inspiration struck!
A few months and some money later…
The wings in this picture are made from that broken drying wrack my roommate gave me.

Very cool! I’ve been trying to figure out how I want to design some fairy wings, but I think I would fall over with something that big!

That is awesome. Fairy wings are a bit of a different story, which I still have not figured out. Also, your captions are super funnny.
