The Dark Knight gets darker.
If you haven’t about Christian Bale’s freak-out, you might be living under a rock. Just hope that rock isn’t on his set. And in his line of sight. Because, you know, it’s f***ing distracting!
Ever since the audio of actor Christian Bale’s profanity-laden attack on director of cinematography Shane Hurlbut on the set of Terminator: Salvation made its way onto the self-spreading wildfire that is the internet, a stream of remixes, spoof videos, soundboards, and paraphernalia has followed it in waves.
Bale is one of my favorite actors—he’s highly talented. But like all actors, the impression you may have of them on-screen and on TV is probably drastically different from how they really are in-person. That’s just the effect of good acting.
Frankly, I’m not interested in gossiping about whether or not Bale “was one giant raw nerve.” And of course, we can’t honestly judge Bale’s reaction from the outside—so you shouldn’t try. If you’re willing to take the occurrence lightly and enjoy some event-inspired humor, there are countless tributes to the “Bale-istics” out there. Even t-shirts!

It really is all a shame, I absolutely love his movies. He’s definitely one of my favorite actors. I was a lot happier when I thought he was a nice guy:(

Poor Bale…. I can understand that celebs are people too and they have their moments but unfortunately their moments show up all over the net and papers…

Hey, celebs have their breakdowns just like anyone else.
Besides, he owned up to it on a radio station yesterday.
And why not post the Colbert clip where he chews out Steve Martin? Classic.

He’s an actor who takes his job very seriously. He lost how much weight for a movie? The director of the Machinist was even telling him that they could fake the weight loss but Bale wasn’t having any of that. He’s been known to be an actor who gets very involved with his roles so to have someone constantly mess up his scenes has to be frustrating. I may be one of the few people who just looks at it like he was having a bad day and blew his top.

I agree that he has extra stress because of his job and I am sure he was having a bad day, but regardless of who you are there is never any excuse for talking to another human being like that. I don’t think I will hold it over his head forever, but he should be ashamed of himself.

I agree that he was way out of line. I’m sure however that it was just that one moment he lost his cool, and it sounds to me like he apologized that very same day.
I agree that no one, regardless of who you are should ever unload on someone like that, but part of me wonders how much of it was Christian Bale yelling at the guy, and how much of it was John Connor. Either way, at least he owned up to it, and I’m sure it’s gonna be one of those things he will forever be embarrassed by and never live down.

From what ive read it looks like the DP is a known ” light tweaker ” who likes to do it during filming. Looks like bale was doing an intense scene and after many times telling the guy to stop messing with stuff on set while he is filming the guy did it anyway and got in his line of sight.
I would rip a guy too if he did that to me over and over. yea like none of us have gone off like that. it happens.

I heard the sound bit and determined that I didn’t know the whole story and wasn’t there so I couldn’t pass judgment. The only thing I got from it was that Christian Bale would be a worthy opponent for a F-bomb duel. That I liked.
