Seriously! The DS has added a language coach to its ongoing teaching track record. Brought to you by Ubisoft, this game came out on October 14th and is a tough one to find in stock. Thanks to a good friend of mine, I was able to get a taste of this awesome teacher.
The game is called My Japanese Coach and it starts off on “Baby” mode. So the viewer is learning from the very beginning basics of the language. It starts with simple words like ‘yes’ and ‘no.’ It shows a series of words that you can hear and speak back to the teacher (pretty animated lady). The game also shows each of the words in kanji and demonstrates how to write the word in kanji form. The player goes through a series of lessons and has to pass them to graduate to a harder mode. If the student isn’t new to the language, there is the option to change the difficulty at anytime.
This may sound boring to some people, but if you want to learn a language, it really helps make it more enjoyable. There are also several mini games to keep the player more involved in the whole process. The DS makes a really handy platform so a person can learn on the go or use the dictionary software whenever they need it. You just have to pull it out of your pocket or purse.
The game also comes in Spanish and Chinese.

This sounds awesome. I’m glad they added Japanese to the mix of other “My Coach” games. There’s also some really, really good kanji programs out there for the DS where you can write in a kanji and it’ll give you the translation and so on.

I remember seeing that at Gamestop when I went to pick up a new game. I wanted to learn Japanese for a really, really, long time. I will definitely buy this one the next time to go to the store.

DOOD I love this! I got it and omg it rocks. Only lil complaint I have for it, they really didn’t do much with the character that you see when you start up, she doesnt’ talk. It kind of annoys me for some reason lol.
