Despite the cliche that geeks don’t date, nerdy couples prevail. Get gift ideas here for Valentine’s Day.
If you’re among the population buried under a couple feet of snow, then your best survival advice is to strip down and snuggle the one you love for warmth. Before you do that, have dinner and exchange cards and gifts. This list of recommendations should get your creative juices flowing:
- Girlie Tee “I only date superheroes” from Marvel.com
- Sideshow Collectibles is having a Valentine’s giveaway. Just send one of their ecards and you’re entered for to win a Mola Ram. Plus if you order an in-stock item of $40 or more during February you can get a free Sideshow coffee mug!
- Don’t forget that when you’re getting ready for your hot night out with the geek you love, you’ll want to smell your very best too. Try one of the Star Trek colognes available at ThinkGeek.
- Perhaps you’re feeling a little devilish. Nothing says “I love you and I want to brainwash you into loving me” like a Mr. Sinister statue from Dynamic Forces.
- Like Pink? Like Bright & Shiny? Like Capes? Then tell your beloved that all you’re missing to make your Batcave complete is a mini Supergirl neon sign. For less than $100, you can get one made by DC Direct.
- We’ve all heard about the horrors involved in mining gems and diamonds just to create that perfect engagement ring. If you’re feeling socially aware and still in the mood to make a commitment, Metal Smitten’s Less Than 3 rings might suit your needs.
- If an ecard can’t convey your love, GeekSugar has the solution in their feature about delightfully quirky Valentine’s cards. But if what you need is a different kind of card, then you’ll want to head over to the etsy shop of artist Jennifer Rodgers who describes her works as cards for stalkers.

Cute stuff! I just sent my valentine a geeky card.
Old navy had some cute, vintagey tees with popular comicbook characters with sayings like, “I met my boyfriend on the web” (Spiderman) but I can’t find them on the site.. anyway, I saw it in the store less than a month ago!
