Either Square Enix has been extremely hush-hush in keeping something from us or an employee from Best Buy really mucked up!
The image above was taken by a GameTrailers member (irechief) who promptly posted a thread over on the GT fourms causing mass confusion and chaos.
Okay, maybe it’s not exactly that extreme, but you get the idea.
Some claim it’s a PSN download of the original, but since I’m not a PS3 owner I’m not entirely sure of what all that consists of. Though, it’s not very Sqeenix like to just all of a sudden drop a huge pile of gold on it’s fans without building the hype first.
With no other serious FFVII related announcement as of late (besides the Japanese release date for FFVII Advent Children Complete), we can only really speculate what this all means. Perhaps it was someone’s cruel joke? Or perhaps it really was an honest mix-up.
What says you?

I say that would be amazing …
… but probably a mix-up. It might just be, as you said, a download of the original. You’re right: I think they’d build up the hype first. I mean, we fans have been begging for this for what seems like ages, and all they keep giving us is spin-offs of VII. Bleh.

Seriously… enough of FFVII.
Bring out my (and Amano’s) favorite in all the fully rendered 3D treatment it deserves… namely… FFVI.
That is all.

I will say it. Forget VII. Why not do something with VIII? There is so much story left to tell from that one as well. Or even as DR says. VI. Enough with VII all ready. I love it, but enough has been done, in my opinion.

You know, I WISH they would do something with VIII too. It’s actually higher on my list than VII, but I’m not gonna hold my breath.
And DR: Good to see you on here
I see you read my facebook notes! Hahahahah!

That would be nice. I didn’t get into FF other than a gameboy game WAY back in the day, and everyone I’ve asked told me to play VII, but I can never find it (for a reasonable price).

Yeah, it’s kind of ridiculous, Mandy, how much certain old games sell for.
Everyone would love to see their favorite, cherished games get a revival. Me? Legend of Legaia. Such a great game, but overshadowed by another when it came out. I’d love to see that redone and made all pretty with great graphics.
But alas, we can’t all get what we want, can we? So yeah. Enough’s enough. I much rather would have had a remake than all these ridiculous spin-offs. Let it go, as you guys are saying.

Isn’t it odd we’ve been around long enough for them to be making “remakes” of video games?

Hehe I’m 35 Mandy. Tell me about it, lol

Yup, false FF alarm. No remake.

Mandy. You want to play it. I could mail it to you if you want to borrow it.
