Everyone is talking about the Austrian PS3 ad with the naked dude missing a “pee-pee”. Where his “manliness” should be, there is a thumb. Umm, I don’t get it.

And for a closeup!!

Now, can someone explain this to me because I don’t get the message. It’s a guy with out “twigs and berries”, instead he has a thumb. Wha? And why does the ad say “Playboy”, shouldn’t it be “Playgirl”, or do guys like this ad? Are they gonna mix this ad in their magazine along side naked girls? Is that good marketing? So many questions and so very little, teeny, weeny answers.

Hmm, I actually think the ad is very interesting. Removing his manliness and instead placeing that which shows how much of a gamer he truly is (or is supposed to be). Making him the ultimate “play boy” … hmm, I like it. Makes you kind of think about it when you look at it hard enough … … … hmm, maybe I could have come up with better words to end that sentence, but whatever. It was too hard to think of something else.

Well then they should have had him atleast holding a controller or something. Instead this poor guy just looks like he is very unfortunate in the “no no zone”.

LMAO!!!

That’s true. As it is now, it is extremely vague, to say the least.
But … no. I will email you later, if you want, what I was thinking. Don’t want to post anything that would be even slightly inappropriate on here.

Well, here is the thing. It’s an Austrian ad. Remember that other countries aren’t as anal about sex as Americans. In fact, when I was in France in 2005 the bus stops hosted images of completely bare breasted women. In other countries, the naked body is seen as beautiful and artistic.
Then again, this is the male body we are looking at ….. ::shudders::

But somebody on the other site had a good point. Can you imagine what they will do if they ever produce a female version of this ad?
May 14th, 2008 at 5:31 pm
@ Aktrez: The male form is just as beautiful as a womans. The human body is a beautiful and intriguing machine that one must marvel at it complexity and simplicity.
If only American’s were not so prudish about the body. One should not be ashamed of their body, showing off their body, or seeing someone else show off their body. Funny how this was supposed to be a liberal thinking land when it was founded yet how conservative it has become. Almost as though it went backwards in time instead of embracing the future and it’s ideals and liberties.

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I always viewed the male body as akward. With everything sort of just hanging out there. Don’t get me wrong, it obviously has it’s purpose but, for pure asthetics sake - I definitely feel the female body is much more of a work of art with it’s curves and form.

Agreed! Chicks are hot!
May 14th, 2008 at 6:18 pm
No, I agree with you. I believe the female form is a lot more asthetically pleasing, just that the male form can be looked at in a different perspective. While the female body has it’s soft curves and smooth lean muscles, the male form has defined and chisled features that really stand out. Raised muscles and defined lines against the body make for a different form of beauty.

The first time I read this, I read something COMPLETELY different. LOL.
“Remember that other countries aren’t as anal about sex as Americans.”
May 14th, 2008 at 7:44 pm
… LOL. Wow, what ran through your mind?
May 14th, 2008 at 8:59 pm
Hehe, I picked that up, too, Mandy. Great word choice, Becky. ;;grins and rolls eyes;;

0.o I think I agree with Clare here

I guess this tries to say that the thumbs are the new “male powa toolz” or something shallow like that -_-
Can they do a more childish ad than this?
May 15th, 2008 at 8:04 am
Wow, at first glance I didn’t realize it was a thumb and thought “Oh…that’s unfortunate…” LOL
May 15th, 2008 at 8:32 am
Um…yeah.
That’ll perk up 360 sales for sure.
May 15th, 2008 at 8:41 am
Perk up? Pun intended?

PrincessTwilight: Hahaha, that’s what I thought too, if I hadn’t read the article it was attached to I would have just kept on going thinking this guy was a very unlucky guy.

It’d been funny if the model had no idea they were going to crop out his dragon and instead put a thumb.
I should show this to Paul and watch his reaction!

Oh jeez. I was looking at this topic at work last night and my supervisor walked by and totally flipped. It took me almost half an hour to get to to look at the pic and prove I wasn’t looking at porn in the office. She was just about to call I.A. to report me. Jeez.
