If you’re a hardcore Star Wars fan, then more than likely you’ve heard about, seen, or own (i.e. lovingly caress by the fireplace) one of the Star Wars Force FX lightsabers. I know they’ve been around for a while but I think they’re still just as cool now as they were when they were first put on the market. First of all, check out these specs:
- Glowing blades ignites with realistic power-up/down effects!
- Authentic sound effects digitally recorded from the movie.
- Features four motion sensor controlled sound effects, Power-up, idle hum, clash, and power-down
- Durable metal hilt looks and feels like a real lightsaber.
- Sturdy blade is permanently attached to the hilt
- Comes with a custom-designed display stand when you need a break from dueling. (i.e. to show off to your other nerdy friends)
- Darth Maul - Red Blade - (Episode I Phantom Menace) (Can be assembled as a double bladed lightsaber or used as two, battle damaged, single blade lightsabers.)
- Darth Vader - Red Blade - (Episode V Empire Strikes Back)
- Anakin Skywalker - Blue Blade - (episode III Revenge of the Sith)
- Mace Windu - Purple Blade - (Episode II Attack Of The Clones)
- Luke Skywalker - Green Blade - (Episode VI Return Of The Jedi)
- Yoda - Green blade - (Episode III Revenge of The Sith)

I don’t know about you guys but the “power-up/down effects” can amuse me until my friends choke me or the batteries die out, which ever comes first. The clash effect is pretty nice but you can’t exactly whack the crap out of it. It’s more of a love tap of sorts. A very gentle Jedi/Sith, if you will. You can even double your lightsaber as a pool cue. Actually, no, we don’t recommend that but that doesn’t mean we didn’t TRY it.

You have the option of pretending to be these in your basement:
As Triumph the Insult Comic Dog once put it, “Which of these buttons calls your parents to pick you up?”

I totally agree with you….i own one myself (Darth Vader’s) hahaha

Um… I think Yoda has saber envy. Look how much smaller his is! That’s why he’s an angry little Jedi.

I have to admit that I own on of each (Darth Vader - Red Blade, Anakin Skywalker - Blue Blade, Mace Windu - Purple Blade, and Luke Skywalker - Green Blade) because I am a Star Wars nerd. When I first saw them, I knew I had to have them. So I dropped all that money just to satisfy my craving of owning a light saber.

Like most Star Wars things, they just get better with age. We’ve had Luke’s green saber for awhile, and we just got Vader’s red one before Christmas. We love them both and hope to collect them all!
I’ve heard rumors that Master Replicas no longer has the Star Wars license for these and won’t be making more, which I hope isn’t the case. They’re of a great, durable quality and pack a lot of bang for your buck.

Mace Windu popped my Force FX lightsaber cherry. Once you go Mace…uh…he’ll own your face?

Always count on Ms.Naru for a good dirty joke!

Is that so. I think Ms.Naru and I shall become good friends then.

God i’ve wanted one of these for while but just can’t bring myself to spend the $ on such a nerdy toy, but hell they are cool.
I am very curious about how sturdy they are though, not that i would go around bashing stuff but are they well built?
January 5th, 2008 at 3:54 pm
They are pretty well built. My 16 month old can swing it and hit it and it hasn’t broken yet. Not that I let her play with it that much, but the times that she has, it has been fine. And I have been known to smack people in the head with it and they have survived that. But never really hard, I might add.

these look pretty sweet. I’m not sure why I’ve never heard of them before. If I buy one, will you sign it, Clare?

As rumored by theforce.net and now confirmed in an official media release, Hasbro will replace Master Replicas w/ their new line of Force FX lightsabers this spring! Yay, I hope they’re as high-quality so that I can still collect ‘em all.
Also confirmed, newbie co. eFX will be doing new Star Wars prop and replica collectibles… they’ll show their first products at San Diego Comic Con International this July! I can’t wait to see what they bring to the table.

Sweet!!!
Trista: how many do you have?

Two Master Replicas FX so far (Luke’s green and Vader’s red ones) — although those aren’t the only ones I’ve played with. I’m hooked; they’re very addictive. They come w/ these great displays w/ clear handles that you set them in, making them appear as if they’re floating above the Star Wars display base when you add them to your collection on the wall.
