Honestly, I was more than disappointed with the Dark Knight. I’m sure many will disagree with me, but I didn’t find Ledger a convincing joker at all. I mean he carried out the personality well, but I just don’t think he was sinister enough. It could have been done better and I think that is should have been an R rated flick.

Don’t get me wrong, it was a good movie, but it just had so much story bouncing and plot confusion at times. I would like to say that Harvey Dent was PERFECT and beautiful. Even if Dent’s end story was disappointing. I could watch him forever.

PS: I hope I didn’t spoil to much.

I do agree with you on one point VK, the Joker would have been a little better had this movie been rated R.

I feel the exact opposite, actually. Heath’s Joker was creepy one moment and funny the next—just like the Joker. He’s so horrible and cruel, but he makes you laugh at inappropriate times, and then you’re hating yourself for laughing. Heath’s Joker is just that; he was incredibly powerful. He’s definitely the BEST and truest movie Joker ever, and he’s damn close to the true personality of the Joker. It was amazing to watch.

A lot of the stuff in the film was very reminiscent of classic comics like The Killing Joke, for instance.

And as for the R-rating … I thought the only reason it wasn’t rated R was because there wasn’t really much blood—at all. You don’t need gore to make a film visceral and powerful. So kudos to Nolan and all the actors for making it such a great movie, and for doing such a good job, without making it excessive. Sure, blood accentuates the Joker’s insane personality, I’ll give you that. But I thought because they pulled it off as well as they did without much of it … that’s pretty impressive.
