Since I am your go-to-girl for all things horror and all things adult fun, it is my duty and my pleasure to let you in on some HUGE game news for survival horror fans! But first, I wanna play a game, the rules are simple. I will give you 5 hints as to what this news is about and you must use your imagination. No using Google, no leaving this site until you have accomplished your goal. You have 3 minutes, the clock starts now….
1. This next-gen game will be based off of one of the most imaginative, gruesome, and true horror/torture film series we have seen in years.
2. Will be using the Unreal 3 game engine.
3. Slated to be released October 2009 alongside the next installment of this horror series.
4. Featuring a new and exciting storyline that will be answering some questions left open from some of the recent films.
5. Guaranteed to scare shock and amaze you from beginning to end.
Time is up. Did you get it? Yep, it’s Saw, one of my favorite horror movies. The Saw films and Jigsaw have quickly become such a huge success that they are already considered classics. Saw takes torture and fear to a whole new level and finally seeing that on a game console is very exciting news. Brash Entertainment is working closely with Twisted Pictures and Lions Gate to make sure this game has the feeling and the overall style of Saw, ensuring that us gamers who are also fans of the series will not be disappointed. I am anxiously awaiting more news on this title and will keep everyone updated as soon as I hear anything else. Is everyone else as excited as I am?!

I just hope the game has some really bad voice acting from Cary Elwes. That is all.

Can’t believe I used to have a crush on Cary Elwes in The Princess Bride and Robin Hood: Men in Tights.

Need… for 360… rising.

Clare…I think all of us girls did.

Man, too bad Cary Elwes won’t be revisiting his part. He and the producers are still involved in a lawsuit against each other over payment agreements.
I read on Yahoo that it is being planned for both the 360 and PS3. Do you know if this is true or are you figuring this to be an accurate statement?

They should make it like a combination of Dugeon Master and a Sim game. You could craft a labyrinth/house of torture, and then create and upgrade new ways to torture the people!
I’d TOTALLY play it if it was like that! =P
Sadly, I have to pass on most of the “suspense” type games, as it’s not great to throw the horror genre onto my anxiety disorder. =) I barely was able to get going with Bioshock, but thankfully was able to make it through to enjoy it for the great game it is.

Wow, if they do this game justice we should have Hilary Clinton and Jack Thompson all in a tizzy:P
Awaiting it with baited breath…

rjac1978: The press release only said “next-gen”, so most people are assuming that means both PS3 and 360, but we will see.
Druidblue: Hahaha, I actually used to do that in Sims. I would make a dungeon with one-way doors, then place toys in the dungeons (that were equipped with security cameras) and lure the children into the dungeons…once in I would remove all the toys and toilets and beds….making it a terrible child dungeon. Umm, yeah, I probably shouldn’t have told anyone that.

Haha. I used to do that with my Sims also. I would make a room full of appliances and let them set things on fire and close off all the doors. So horrible watching them die. =)

I LOVE horror movies - the scarier the better. But I’ve never seen the SAW movies. I think my main aversion was the whole “torture” part about them. I can’t imagine enjoying sitting through two hours of people cutting limbs off, and killing each other to survive (which is what I gather the movies are mostly about?)
I don’t think I’d enjoy playing through the experience either. I’ll stick with Resident Evil, Silent Hill and Fatal Frame.

I can’t wait to see how they pull this off. I love the series and seen them all. What mind *beep* twist will they do! ahh the suspense of it all.
