I’ll admit it–I’m not a fan of the Wii. In fact, the only reason I decided to review this game is because it is the only Wii title I completed in its entirety. It’s not that I don’t appreciate the Wii’s graphics or the childish games like some claim, my reason is simple: I am a lazy gamer.
I was first drawn to Super Paper Mario as any Nintendo fan would be. The bright colors, the charming music and the adorable iconic characters we all have grown to love continue to be key elements. Better yet, the Wiimote is used as a standard horizontal controller, and very little of the motion control is needed for the game. Since I was able to maintain a resting heart rate and still play, I was thrilled to find out it was actually quite an enchanting tale, filled with puns and tantalizing dialogue along the way.
The puzzles you face in Super Paper Mario aren’t always easy. With being able to flip from 2D to 3D, alternating between Mario, Luigi, Peach and Bowser and using the aid of Pixls, which are geometrical buddies you find along the way, there becomes a plethora of options when faced with a challenge. Gamefaqs had to save me a few times, which is always my last resort.

I’ll too admit something…I’ve always wanted to play this game. If only there were some service where I could trade games I’ve already played for games that I WANT to play. If only…

I must say, this is one of the few Wii games I would actually play. I’m just not a big Nintendo fan anymore. But I’ve always loved Mario, Legend of Zelda, and Pokemon games. Gotta give it that.
