Shadowline Collects The Roberts This February

In the mood for a good thriller? Sorry, you are on your own…at least till February. Image’s Shadowline just announced that they will be collecting the serial killer thriller The Roberts for the first time this February. The book is obviously in demand, considering that each issue sold out completely.

Written by Wayne Chinsang and illustrated by Erik Rose, The Roberts will offer exclusive bonuses for picking up the collected issues.

“The Roberts collected edition is going to be a major treat to both the fans of the series and those who have yet to discover it,” said Shadowline Publisher Jim Valentino. “We’ve jam-packed the trade with both sold out issues and nearly fifty pages of brand-new extras. It’s the perfect time to catch up on Shadowline’s newest sleeper hit!”

The Roberts follows the life of the now infamous Zodiac Killer, who has seen his fair share of spotlight in the recent feature film. The book takes the tale one step further, by revealing the final fate of both the Zodiac Killer and The Boston Strangler as – get this – they live their last days in The Shady Lane Retirement Center. Secrets are shared and eventually one of the two may have to give into their instinct to kill in order to live out the rest of their life in peace.

As for that extra content? The bonus pages include the fruits of the Chinsang’s labor, in the form of notes taken from his real life correspondence with serial killers Richard Ramirez and Charles Manson. Talk about dedication.

The trade will total 144 black and white pages, and sell for $14.99. If you are one who can’t shy away from the macabre, The Roberts will hit comic shelves February 11.

This sounds like something I’d like, but I’m not sure how I feel about black & white. I’m still new to comics and like them shiney.
