Recently, my clan started a fun challenge just for us girl’s to play on the Gamerscore Challenge to win a YEAR of gamefly. Essentially, me and 20 other girls will be racing each other to get the most points in 30 days. Me? I’m #11! (Wahoo! Go me!) In my life as a gamer, college student, and all around bad influence, I can tell a good time from a boring one. If there’s anything I can say after my experiences, it’s that those gamer’s know how to party. I say this as someone who has attended many kinds of game oriented social events. From the six person LAN in a friend’s mom’s basement to the meltdown that was E3. Maybe it’s because I’m the happiest when I have a controler in my hand, but I have more fun sitting in a group of 10 people battling on Guitar Hero then I ever did at random house parties and clubs. Ok, sooo for about 20-something years Ive been what has been called a “girl gamer.” Now, for those of you who are out of the loop, there are many types of girls who game, but for now I’ll leave it at this- a girl gamer is a gamer who happens to have the biology of a female. Regardless of what it may be called, I am one. Sooo yeah. Im a gamer who’s female.
