Halo Wars returns Bungie’s juggernaut franchise to its roots as a real-time strategy, albeit sans the Master Chief and Bungie itself, replaced by an entirely new cast and the now-defunct Ensemble Studios. Microsoft has stated repeatedly that it expects the Wii to turn millions of non-gamers into card-carrying wagglers, but eventually the lack of substance will make them hungry for more advanced experiences (like, say, those on the Xbox 360). So it’s ironic that Halo Wars is, like most Wii titles, a watered down offering which thanks to its ultra hot license will entice gamers normally intimidated by the genre’s inherent complexity.

Right now on Bungie’s website, there is a post dated 9/22 with the title “Pardon Our Dust” and an unusual transcript from what looks like UNSC’s Office of Naval Intelligence. Is this the start of a new viral marketing scheme? or is Bungie following in the footsteps of Blizzard’s recent stunt.

Okay, so I may be a little late to the game here because this…amazing individual’s video has been out for a short while now. I was actually shocked that majority of the people I have asked about it have not seen it which is why I would like to post it. Everyone is comparing him to the ridiculousness that is the Star Wars Kid and rightfully so. If you don’t know who the Star Wars Kid is, I suggest you turn off your monitor, slowly back away from the computer…and get off my internet. Wait, no…I’m totally kidding. You need to see this. If you dare call yourself any type of a Halo fan then you really need to see this.
