Uh oh, another video game-turned-Hollywood atrocity. But wait, what’s this? Jerry Bruckheimer? Disney?! THE ORIGINAL CREATOR?!!! This all seems so unfamiliar and, possibly, good. Don’t take my word for it though: Here’s a shiny new trailer for all you Prince-loving peeps. I’ll save the excitement for opening night as we all know if there’s anything Hollywood is good at, it’s crushing dreams and letting Tim Burton $#?! all over my childhood memories.
Megan Fox is confirmed as playing Aspen in the film adaptation of Michael Turner’s comic Fathom. Does this mean we can officially take her out of the running for Wonder Woman? No, really. Can we?
It’s not every day that a Lara Croft or Sephiroth comes along. Video game characters need to be original and captivating because, more often than not, players will be spending hours upon hours with them. The new Prince of Persia screens shots made me die inside just a little bit. I have been a Prince of Persia fan since the old side-scrolling game on the PC. In fact, I rememeber years later having forgot the name of that game I played and loved as a child, and asking gamer friends about the game and if they knew what I was talking about. So many people knew nothing of the game, many didn’t even know what it was even when Ubisoft made the PS2 version. Now, it’s a gamers household name, everyone knows Prince of Persia. Yet, when I saw these new screen shots my heart broke.
That’s right, there’s yet ANOTHER video game that will be featured on the big screen. Jerry Bruckheimer Films and Walt Disney are the pair to bring Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time to life. Production begins this July in Morocco and England.
