Late last week I headed down to the MTV office in Santa Monica to check out the goodies being released for Rock Band on Tuesday, October 20.

Two exciting new song packs are being released tomorrow for The Beatles: Rock Band and Rock Band.

Hardcore Beatles fan who played through the game looking for more songs to unlock will be happy to know that the full Abbey Road album will be available to download, plus those that download the full album will have access to a 16-minute medley of b-sides as a single track. Be sure to pick an instrument and a difficult you are proficient on, as this medley can, at times, kick your butt. I managed through it on hard difficulty on the drums, which, on The Beatles: Rock Band, isn’t too bad, except I almost failed out of one of the drum solos!

Rock Band fans will have another reason to stay in on a Friday night with your friends with the new Queen DLC 10 pack, with ultimate favorites such as “Another One Bites The Dust” and “Fat Bottomed Girls”. Unfortunately, no “Bohemian Rhapsody” on this pack, but never say never. Everyone likes to think of bands and songs they’d like to see on Rock Band, and Queen was probably on most people’s lists. Why didn’t they think of this sooner? I can see it now… households all over the country will be breaking out the face paint and platforms, and smashing their guitar controllers into the ground… well, maybe not. But there will certainly be a lot of Rock Band parties in your near future!

When I first heard about Batman: Arkham Asylum a year or so ago, I was actually a little worried.  I’m a rather huge comic nerd, and Batman has always been one of my top favorites.  The world of Batman is rather unique with an inherent darkness not found in many other mainstream comics.  On top of that, the game is set in Arkham, a place filled with some of the worst villains ever pondered.  Seriously, the Joker beat one of the previous Robins to death.  So needless to say, I was rather concerned that the game would not live up to standards set by the comics.  However, I have one main point to make about Arkham Asylum: boy, did it ever deliver. World War II is an oft-visited setting in video games, most extensively the Call of Duty and Medal of Honor series.  The Wolfenstein series has been around for a while, going all the way back to 1981 with the release of Castle Wolfenstein.  The Wolfenstein franchise, however, offers a different WWII experience by incorporating the Nazi interest in the occult and paranormal.  By combining the standard killing of Nazis with mutants and paranormal, futuristic weapons, Wolfenstein makes for a unique and satisfying first person shooter. New screenshots were released for the massive action-rpg, Sacred 2: Fallen Angel.  Get a close up of a few of the classes, like the Inquisitor and the Seraphim, slashing enemies and casting spells in the dark dungeon of Ancaria.  Sacred 2 will be releasing on the Xbox 360 and the PS3 May 12th.

Since the beggining of time, T-Energy has kept the world of Ancaria alive.  The energy source shapes life itself and is the origin of all magick.  For a long span of time, the angelic Seraphim were the overseers of T-Energy, but eventually passed on their knowledge to the High Elves, who soon became the supreme race of Ancaria.
