SquareEnix and Star Ocean Kick Europeans For Fun

Like the fangirl that I am I continue to come back to SquareEnix time and time again hoping it will one day produce a game that will redeem itself of its many wrong doings *cough* Last Remnant *cough* and restore itself to the glory days. So my fingers, toes, legs and eyes are crossed for Star Ocean: The last Hope because as far as I am concerned, this really does feel like the last hope.

Star Ocean: The last Hope is set as the prequel to the Star Ocean universe and tells the story of the aftermath of World War III as humanity looks for a second chance and a new place to call home. Star Ocean is another member of the SquareEnix family of RPG’s and is seeing its new title exclusive to the Xbox360 as apposed to its old flames of the PlayStation2 and PSP.

What pains me more than anything is that the Japanese will be seeing this game first on February 19th (no surprise there) and after having their release date bumped up, America will see Star Ocean: The Last Hope arrive on February 24th, a mere 5 days after Japan. PAL territories however, that means Europe, still don’t have a release date as SquareEnix refuse to pin down a date and continue to destroy European hope with an ambiguous ‘Spring 2009’ which could be as late as April.

SquareEnix only hurts me because it loves me, right?
