Video games in school has been a taboo phrase up until the past few years. Back in the age of virtual pets, Pokemon red/blue, and Gameboy, gaming in schools could get kids suspended or worse. We are now in 2009 and allot has changed. Individuals can major in gaming development or become professional gamers without prejudice of mainstream society telling them that gaming isn’t work.
So coming way out of left field today, is the death of the Championship Gaming Series (CGS). This is a tragedy to everyone involved in this league, who called themselves the only true professional gaming league, and to fans alike. Here’s their goodbye letter posted on their site, that shocked faithful fans and players who found out at the same time that the CGS was over:
