The New Lara Croft

alison_carroll

This is going to be a quick post. I’d like to introduce you all to the latest model version of the 3D British Bombshell we all know and love dearly. 23 year old Alison Carroll of Croydon, England apparently has the moves to back up the beauty to be the new face and spokeswoman for the Tomb Raider franchise that just seems to never end. I’ll be totally honest…I’m not that impressed. This has gotta be what…Version 8.0, am I right? Continue for more pictures and my biased opinions…

Lara Croft is one of my forever-lasting idols so I feel that I may judge too harshly when it comes to who is chosen to represent her character. While Alison is a gymnast with Lara-like athletic ability, she just doesn’t scream Croft material in my eyes.  None-the-less, here are some more shots of her in action as Lara:

There are quite a bit more pictures of her as Lara doing her gymnast thing, but to be honest they aren’t very flattering and are…almost NSFW. I’m not exactly sure how the pictures got released in the first place.  Let’s just say that there are some under-region shots that show you exactly where the sun don’t shine. If you are so inclined to view them, you can go here. Don’t say I didn’t warn you though!

Other than that, what do you all think of this new Lara? I personally was a fan of the last model, Karima Adebibe. Even though she was still rather young, she had that Lara “it” factor:

I have to agree with you… and why do they keep changing her up? Sticking with one GOOD model for people to identify with is better… I’m kind of over all the new girls they keep bringing in.

I still don’t see what was wrong with Rhona Mitra. I loved her when she was the Lara Croft model. As the first official Lara, I still think she set the bar for the others to come.

  3. Moe Power Moe Power Says:

Rona WAS a great Lara! What I don’t get is that they started off with these really mature, sultry, sexy and defined women and the all of a sudden, Lara was in her 20’s and developed more of a “girl-next-door” personality.

i gave up caring since they switch them so often

What I don’t like about the new one is that it seems to me that her face is too young and innocent looking. But that’s just my personal preference.

I’d only care if it was someone intended to replace Angelina Jolie in another movie- no one should do such a thing. >=( Otherwise, this role doesn’t really *do* anything, so… I don’t even know why they keep doing this!

I personally liked Rhona and Karima the best too.

I also don’t like this new Lara. I think her face is too young and angelic. I like Karima better.. I think one characteristic Lara should always have is full lips! And heavy brows.

I just think they have changed it too often
Perhaps one more change is in order

    The new Lara Croft: “VirtualGirl”

She would be the best choice!

I love that she has a great athletic build because Lara is not scrawny (sorry, I think that blonde one is too thin) but she does look too sweet and adorable to be bad ass Lara Croft. Best of luck to her though. I’m sure she’ll drive plenty of fans crazy.

I think Alison looks pretty cool … it’s just her face is, like Jinxie said, too angelic; I think it’s also the way her face is shaped. Lara has a longer face, as we know. THEN Alison might fit it more.

Karima is cool but … why does she not have dark brown hair? :P Uhhh …

Ahaha seems my post on Facebook got my friend Jaime (Angry Zen Master) to post about it as well! LOLOLOL Lara Crotch!

  12. Yoshi Girl Mandy. Says:

Oh wow. I just saw the picture your friend posted. Why would a photographer/editor/publisher want to do that???? It’s not sexy, flattering or.. any other positive adjective.. Just bad.

Poor girl, I feel bad for her on that shot.

  13. teknohed teknohed Says:

First off I agree, the high kick shots are ridiculous. Even THQ didn’t do that with Tera Patrick’s Saint’s Row 2 shots and she’s has a famous crotch.

Anyway, I ALSO agree that the last lara was the best yet. Why did they need to replace her? I guess lara is like James Bond or Dr. Who.

  14. FredOzzel FredOzzel Says:

This is what the 200th model they’ve hired to do this? Are they replacing her next week too? v.v

  15. WITA whatistechnoagain Says:

Maybe they think they need to keep interest in Tomb Raider fresh after so many years? When’s the next game coming out, btw? Anyone know?

  16. Orionsaint Orionsaint Says:

You were nice to her Moe. You didn’t post those embarrassing crotch photos of her. lol

  17. TheDCD TheDCD Says:

Rhona Mitra was great, but, for me, it was all about Nell McAndrew. HAWT.

But this one’s not half bad. LOL at the crotch shot. :)

  18. Ghost Dog 3 Ghost Dog 3 Says:

They keep changing them to often for my taste. I think Karima was far the best choice.
