This time we check out the top ten female characters in video games that make us jump for joy and envy. This is not your stereotypical list filled with Final Fantasy characters and half naked women… okay maybe only a few half naked women. I hope that you’ll be pleasantly surprised at what I have in store. You may have seen part one, “Top 10 Video Game Hunks” a few weeks ago, if not click the title to check it out.
10. Visas Marr - Knights of the Old Republic II. Visas was some input from Kurt who swears up and down that she is one of the hottest Sith he has ever seen. Don’t let her fool you, she may be blind but, she can still see enough to kick your ass.
9. Alyx Vance - Half Life. Alyx makes my number 9 position because she has a natural beauty not often found in a video game character. She is unique in the fact that she’s a hot tomboy and doesn’t have over sized scary unrealistic boobs. She can also hold her own in the heat of battle. I also think that our very own GEN girl Traycee would be perfect for an Alyx cosplay.
8. Nariko - Heavenly Sword. Never having played the actual game myself I must say that this girl looks interesting. Any woman thrown into battle in very little clothing and a pair of huge swords gets my vote. Which makes her and her dashing red hair our number 8.May I also mention that she does not have over sized scary unrealistic boobs either.
7. Tala - Darkwatch. No doubt about it, if you have ever played Darthwatch you’ll know that Tala is nothing but a slut. She made playboy as one of their first video game characters, she made the women of Play magazine, and even had one of the first controversal sex scenes in video game history. She’s made history, which makes her number 7… even if she is a slut. You simply can’t say no to a sexy native american vampire.
6. Alicia - Bullet Witch. Okay… so she was in a terrible game, but the concept was good at least? right? Who cares, Alicia is like the Xbox360’s attempt on creating the next BloodRayne, but failed. Alicia herself was the only good thing that came from the game. She is a witch with a gun that looks like a broom and our number 6.
5. Nova - Starcraft: Ghost. A girl who never made a complete appearance still deserves to be recognized. Starcraft: Ghost was a project by Blizzard that for some reason went on permanent hiatus. Nova was the only good to come of the project. Not much is known about nova, but if you know anything about “ghosts” in Starcraft… none were as sexy as Nova.
4. Sniper Wolf - Metal Gear Solid. Sniper Wolf is the Iraqi-Kurdish sharpshooter of the FOXHOUND unit. Though snipers usually work in pairs, Sniper Wolf works alone. She is armed with a PSG-1 sniper rifle. When I first discovered Sniper Wolf I was in awe. Metal Gear Solid was responsible for me becoming more than a casual gamer.
3. Ivy - Soul Calibur. There isn’t much to say about Ivy other than the fact that she has a whip, is scantily clad, and could kick your ass. She will be returning this year in Soulcalibur IV.
2. Lady - Devil May Cry. Lady has “grown up” allot in the last few years. From her tomboy-ish looks in Devil May Cry 3, to her “maturity” in Devil May Cry 4. For a fine girl who has blossomed into a young woma, she makes our number 2.
1. Rayne - BloodRayne. You may have already seen this coming. She has had her own spread in various magazines including Playboy and Women of Play magazine. She has looks that can kill and an attitude to match. Rayne may have been in some not so good games and has even been chewed up and spit out by Uwe Boll, but she is still number 1.

Interesting that this list would get posted on the same day that Kotaku posted an in depth analysis of why Ivy’s boobs get bigger with each game. I’d link to it…but then everyone would say I’m shilling Kotaku…which I’m not…it’s just that I just got done reading that and then I browsed over to this…funny timing is all.
Anyway, reactions…cause that’s the point of these lists right?
I guess this list depends on your definition of “Vixen”, but here is my top 10 list of the obligatory “How could you not include so and sos…”

2. Mai Shiranui (King of Fighters)
3. Nei (Phantasy Star II)
4. Natasla (Champions of Norrath)
5. Cynthia Velasquez (Silent Hill 4)
6. Tyris Flare (Golden Axe)
7. Princess Daphne (Dragon’s Lair)
8. Isabela Keyes (Dead Rising)
9. Luger (Killzone, worst name for a female character ever)
10. “Brooklyn” Betty Charles (Crimson Skies)
Having made sure to cover my bases…I can further comment on your list.
First off Ivy. Bad ass plain and simple. She’s not some mewing plaything like the Dead or Alive Chicks. It’s too bad they’ve decided to augment her polygons so much in IV…but she is awesome.
I don’t know about Alyx Vance. Is she really a Vixen? She’s more of a Heroine…sort of just a hero in general. Same goes for Nariko. I dont’ really see either of them as Vixens…but that’s semantics I guess.
Bloodrayne, Tala, Sniper wolf…I’m with you on those. Those chicks are “vixens”
The rest of the list I’m on the fence. Bullet Witch was so bad that I almost want her disqualified till she stars in a good game. The same kind of goes for Star Craft Ghosts character. I wanted to play that game so bad…it broke my heart…she does not deserve the attention.
And then there’s “girl” who’s such a marketing ploy she doesn’t even get a real name. I agree with druidblue…they basically made a big pair of breasts and filled in the “character” around that…boring.
Which leaves us with the Jedi. I never played the second game…so I can’t comment, but If I had to guess, I’d put a Jedi in with Alyx and Nariko…more heroic. Sexy sure…but that’s just an element…not really a “vixen”, but as I have said…semantics. Good list over all though. I can tell you put a lot of thought into your choices…as usual interesting stuff on The GEN

Nice post hun! plsu I agree with you on Traycee cosplaying Alyx. I actally want to do Nariko cosplay, Once I get more fit, since my work now has a gym membership YAY and I need to find a long red wig and make the swords and I’m golden!
