Remember a while back, when fellow comic connoisseur Wita posted about Dinicartoons making their way to Top Cow? Besides the initial excitement of the announcement, we also found intrigue when they announced Greg Horn – an expert when it comes to illustrating seductive ladies – was going to craft a cover for Jingle Belle: Santa Claus vs. Frankenstein. We all went on to discuss how Horn would approach such a cover, considering the nature of the comic is much more comical than carnal.
Our questions were just answered, as we recently got our hand on the cover. Because of the expressed curiosity in the past, we had to share the final product with all of you. As expected, Horn managed to capture the mischievous nature of Ms. Belle without ignoring some of her more feminine traits.
No news as to if Horn will be collaborating further with the Dinicartoons, but after seeing the cover, we can’t imagine Top Cow was left unimpressed.
If the comic itself has you intrigued (and it should, just look at the title…) read on to get an update as to what the story is about.
“Inspired by Mary Shelley’s original novel (sort of), the story of Frankenstein’s monster takes a new twist when he is found by Jingle in the Arctic wastes and “rehabilitated” to fit in with the elves at Santa’s Workshop. All goes well until an ultra-PC city declares Santa Claus taboo and awakens Frankie’s monstrous side in a misguided attempt to help his friend. It’s up to an ailing Santa and a reluctant Jingle Belle to stop their monstrous “apprentice” before he destroys the town and ruins the reputation of Christmas forever!”
Jingle Belle: Santa Clause vs. Frankenstein goes on sale December 3 for $2.99.

Nice… I love Greg Horn’s work. He is why I collected all the Elektra and Emma Frost comics… and just about everything else he puts out. Including his art books.

Not crazy about the cover, actually—but go Jingle! Haha!

I would have Greg Horn’s baby. He’s one of my favorite artists plus he’s a nice guy to talk to.

But hey … why not, right? LOL
