One of the coolest things about this convention was the swag (as always)! All of the GEN girls walked away with goodies from other exhibitors in exchange for a review! Well I’ve got the goods here folks, and I’m super excited about these gaming accessories!
One of the coolest accessories to hit the Rock band scene are drum covers! I know right… whodathunk? Anyway, while at the convention, I walked past the Premium Drum Covers booth several times thinking, “what a great idea!” That very day, I was approached by the creator to possibly test them out, since the GEN booth was booming with rock band fans! I agreed!
I have to say folks, this accessory is not only cool, but necessary! The liners beneath the covers help reduce the clacking so you can hear the music and play into the wee hours of the night without waking your kids/neighbors/in-laws… you get the picture. It also extends the shelf life of your drum pads so you won’t have to replace them as often. I asked one of our new drummer friends, Marty Johnson, what he thought and he said, “the drum sticks bounce easier.” As for me, I’ve found that it actually helps you play better… weird? Well, check it out yourself!
They do not effect your drum play at all… they allow for great sensitivity!
Visit Premium Drum Covers and order yours today! If you don’t need the color coordination, you can choose from an assortment of colors and themes!
“If you’re gonna beat it, cover it!“

Another sweet ass sweet doo-dad is from Dude Thing Creations. If you own several guitars for your rockband/guitar hero game, then this may come in handy! Instead of leaning your guitars on the wall, or wherever else you put them *ahem*… you can purchase this nifty stand to keep organized. This is another accessory that will help extend the shelf life of your rock band controllers!
As you can see can see, it’s a decent looking stand so it won’t stick out like a sore thumb amidst your decor! I personally love it! So get organized and save the music… literally! HA! Get it? ![]()

Yeah, though I did not try out the pads at the GEN booth, I did at the their booth and I thought they were a great idea. It has always annoyed me that you hear so much “clacking” from the pad, especially on some songs, more than anything. Just like some players on the Guitar tend to mash the buttons to hard. So that seemed pretty sweet.
And the stand. What a no brainer. I am surprised no one marketed one out before. But hey. I think it is a definite must have, especially for people like my brother in law who now has four guitars of his own.
Nice review kid.

I need a drum set just to put some cool fuzzy ones on! Neon colors here I come.

When I can swing a copy of Rockband/GH I’ll pick these up. Especially the table table for storing guitars, it’s really nifty (and honestly I’d need something like that to organize them lol).

The stand and the pads are AWESOME! The customization level on the pads is great (and they have a custom line - I can totaly see Becky with the white fuzzy ones). The stand is totally rad cause it locks the guitars in place sothey don’t fall. For those with space issues they also have a cabinet that stores the drums and 2 guitars!
=^.^= Nyo!

AGH! They have cabinets?! Thanks for letting me know EBWonder! I so need that!
Becky is gonna get the fuzzy pink one’s *lol*!
I really like my stand and covers… a lot.

The reason we got a house was to avoid the problems Rock-Banding late at night! LOL. I suppose getting those pads might have been cheaper…Also, I am a fan of the table. I was thinking of getting it for a while, but for our wireless guitars I want to hang them on the wall with guitar hooks…I just think that would look baddass!

Great post, Traycee! As the resident drummer in my RockBand 2/3 aZn, the pads would be very useful when my guitarist is on the phone with clients while I practice.
Having a little drum background experience, I know that using bad technique can cause long term damage, so the softening of the pads is REALLY great for novice and amateur drummers! And so amazed that it doesn’t change gameplay whatsoever.
And loving that guitar table!

Virtualgirl I was thinking the same thing about the wireless guitars - but the table is still kinda nice and convenient to the console so I dunno

Damn… I want a house!
Ya know Meg… if you’re planning on having little one’s, the pads would help out in that department. You’d be able to play w/out waking anyone up… and like Jinxie said, “the softening of the pads is REALLY great for novice and amateur drummers!” Hahaha… that’s later on down the road *haha*!

Mmmmmm…house……/drool
If i had a room to design I’m make one where I would either have a false wall with a stage or a decending cabinet to store my VG stuffs.
Hmmm…they need to make one with shelves for the mic….bbl, gottta email them…. Mwahahahahahahaha
=^.^= Nyo!

Ha, doesn’t matter with my two little ones. They are up all night with me. Great, they would have my sleeping pattern wouldn’t they. But yeah, I still think they are a great buy.

Heyoo, Marty here and I’d just like to endorse Traycee’s choice here completely. :p After spending oh so much time at your booth (which I’m sure was a quite the pain!) playing on the drum kit before you added the drum covers I noticed a big difference as soon as you added them into the mix. First, they look sharp and really do dampen the annoying click sound of the sticks hitting the hard plastic, as well as making the drums more sensitive during the more tricky parts and the long drum-rolls. The covers also make the game feel more natural and cause the sticks to bounce back easier during play. Unlike some accessories for systems of old (Power Glove, anyone?) these are a really good choice.

Haha, I’m stealing your descending cabinet idea EBWonder!
And, hello Marty! No it wasn’t a pain having you play at the booth… it was quite entertaining! We had free entertainment and music thanks to you and the others! XD
October 8th, 2008 at 8:51 pm
Oh yeah, who doesn’t love free entertainment?
It was nice finding the GEN booth just to have a place to sit around and play Rock Band after I saw most of what there was to see after the first day and a half. Just lounging around and having a good time, as well as finding some new stuff worthy of buying for my games!
I don’t remember who had said it, but bringing couches next time and setting it up like a lounge would be fantastic. The next E for All is going to be in July next year yeah? Can’t wait!
October 8th, 2008 at 11:15 pm
Well, stealing is so naughty……and naughty people deserved to be spanked…unless they enjoy it. I’m having a problem with the gear design on the decnding cabinet……..I can’t seem to make it work without springs and I’m rather hesitant to make it puch to open. if you figure that one out, lemme know. I’m kinda handy with my…er…hands.
October 9th, 2008 at 10:08 am
@ EBWonder: can you take pics when you’re done building it so we can see? I’ll bet it’s gonna look so cool when you’re done… and if you figure out how to make it all come together lemme know so I can copy you! Just kidding… no but seriously, I’d love to see the finished project!
October 9th, 2008 at 1:17 pm
LOL…still in the planning satge cause i don’t have a room to build it into…..but as soon as i do, I will.
