The technology for gaming keeps catapulting forward as the years go on; the graphics, the game engines and the hardware itself all keep advancing at a staggering rate as well as the ways to play our games. This need for better game immersion has created some impressive peripherals from the Wii’s nunchuck to some of the hardcore gaming chairs you can spend the rest of your life trying to pay off. I think we’re really just waiting for Holodecks (don’t deny it) but until we get complete game immersion, we can get our fix with
little innovations like the First Person Gamer Vest.
Another amazing offering from Think Geek, the FPS Gamer Vest is the ideal way to play any shooter and truly feel a part of the action. This vest is an impact generating device. Whether you are shot with a bullet in Call of Duty 2 or slashed by a balverine in Fable, not only will you feel the impact, you will feel it precisely where your character was hit in the game. Imagine following your squad through enemy territory and suddenly feeling bullet impact on your back…nice, non-fatal bullet impact. You are able to turn fast and sharp to return fire because you know where the attack was coming from. How did we ever shoot digital Nazis without this invention? This vest works fine with both Windows XP and Vista, is USB compatible and also comes with Call of Duty 2. Can I get a hell ya?
A little concerned that there may only be a few games compatible with this vest could warrant the purchase? Not to fear; here is the current list of games compatible with the FPS Gamer Vest:
Far Cry 2, Mass Effect, Unreal Tournament 3, World of Warcraft, Prey, Clive Barker’s Jerhico, Bioshock, Call of Duty 2, 3rd Space Incursion, Doom 3, Quake 4, Dead Space, Combat Arms, F.E.A.R, Call of Duty 4, Crysis, S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Clear Sky, Mercenaries 2, Halflife 2 Episodes 1 & 2, Turning Point: Fall of Liberty, Timeshift, Frontlines: Fuel of War , Blacksite, Medal of Honor Airborne, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, You are Empty, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars, Blacksite, Turok.
See? No reason to be concerned! Although a list of soon-to-be-compatible games is not currently listed on Think Geek, there are sure to be more and more games that want to drag you into the experience even more. I am keeping my fingers crossed for Left 4 Dead! This vest can only better your gaming experience so start a pennies-from-under-my-couch jar and get yourself this vest.

I tried one of these at E4All a couple years back and they didn’t have nearly as many games as they do that work with it. It is very cool and it is an exciting development in gaming.

I am praying my boyfriend doesn’t see this thing.
…Although, even I admit that would be pretty bad ass to have while killing me some Big Daddy.
