The new high-resolution version of the new Watchmen teaser trailer is up!
As Newsarama.com clevely points out—why yes, you can see lower Manhattan. About nineteen seconds in. Lower … Manhattan. In all its blue glory.
The upcoming Watchmen film might be rated R, but this isn’t the reason. Graphic novels are, by nature, more mature and they tend to be darker; Watchmen certainly fits the bill. But as /Film notes, there’s a reason our favorite glowing blue man isn’t wearing any pants.
/Film reader Oscar comments that Dr. Manhattan can “control all matter, you don’t think he can make his own clothes grow the way does his body? He doesn’t wear clothes because he’s detached from humanity and he doesn’t need clothes for modesty’s sake and certainly not to protect him from the elements.”
Discuss: Pants or no pants aside, why IS Watchmen rated R? What are your thoughts, fans of the book? And should superhero movies extend to R ratings in the first place?
