Just who will Team USA be competing against this year at the World Cosplay Summit? There are more international teams for 2009 than there ever has been and that means more awesome competition. Here’s a brief profile of three of the teams who will also be making the ultimate cosplay trip to Japan.
Brazil
Renan Aguiar De Castro and Geraldo Jose Cecilio Junior will bring 3 and 8 years of experience to WCS, respectively.
Both One Piece fans, the Brazillian team will have some big shoes to fill following Team Brazil’s win last year. They both say they are fulfilling a dream by being able to travel to Japan and compete.
China
A rarity in that both members are male, Team China will be the new kids on the block at WCS. Though their 
country has competed many times, this year’s Chinese team has only one year of experience each.
Shi Jian Xiong says he likes Bleach and already loves cosplay. His partner Seng Shaonyun is a Dragonball Z fan who describes himself as cheerful and excited to meet people from all over the world.
Germany
With five years of cosplay experience each, Annabel Huwig and Iris Herrmann from Germany will come 
prepared to WCS. They like Oh!My Goddess, Death Note and Fate/Stay Night, among other animes.
Other than cosplay, Annabel says she also enjoys philosophy, riding horses and drinking tea.
Iris describes Japan as her dream land. She is an interior designer who likes to paint in her spare time.
