Today Team U.S.A. strutted their stuff through the streets of Tokyo with the rest of the WCS duos.
All 15 teams, plus any general cosplayers who wanted to participate, took part in a cosplay parade that took them through the Osu shopping district in Tokyo. Take a look at a map of the parade route:
The hour-long parade route was literally lined with spectators, most weilding cameras. It gave the city a chance to meet the teams who will compete tomorow for the ultimate cosplay prize.
Our own Team U.S.A. went dressed as characters from the Dreamcast game “Space Channel 5.” Their costumes
looked impeccable; Elizabeth and India definitely represented us proudly in the first major event of the competition.
But the many of the other teams were just as stunning. I was particularly impressed with Austialia, who came out in gorgeous, elaborate Code Geass costumes. If they’re wearing costumes that detailed for the parade, I can’t wait to see what they come out with tomorow!
Speaking of tomorow, that is when the big event will finally take place. Tomorow afternoon (Japan time) every team will debut yet another costume, perform a skit and be judged on those costumes and skits. And a winner will be chosen.
Want video of the parade? Thanks to Youtube and some brave cameramen, we have great footage of the entire parade. Look for Team USA toward the beginning of the procession!
Check back tomorow to find out who wins and what happens at the main event of the World Cosplay Summit 2009! You can also check of the official WCS web site for more info. and videos.

Sounds like that would be awesome to see in-person. I know all the great cosplayers at SDCC were kind of blowing my mind with their awesome, so a whole parade would just make my brain explode.
