It might be early morning Saturday for me, but Japan is several hours ahead of us. And that means the first event of this year’s World Cosplay Summit - the press event - is already over.
Press Day was actually Friday for the teams. They spent the day in Japan doing a whirlwind of interviews.
They later went to the various local government offices to meet officials from around the country. The teams saw everyone from prefectural government officials in the local Tokyo area, to the local city hall.
Later today, the teams will participate in a cosplay parade through Osu. The parade is a unique event within the competition in that it will feature general cosplayers as well as the WCS teams.
For the press events, Elizabeth and India from Team U.S.A. showcased their stunning Kuroshitsuji costumes. The team represented us as Madame Red and Ciel.
See more pictures and read more about the event at Team U.S.A.’s blog. And check back at GEN for more information as updates flood in.

Also, the idea of a press day is just crazy. I love the level of respect they get at this event.
