Now I’ve pretty much always been one of those ‘don’t call me a chick, chicks’, but even I can’t resist the urge to buy shoes I can’t possible walk in and handbags I can’t possibly fill. It’s an urge which is pretty much is unavoidable if you have a vagina. Yet Capcom have decided to make shopping for things I don’t need/never wear much more bearable by releasing a new line of Capcom Visa pre-paid cards.
These cards are not credit cards but instead are pre-paid cards which the owner can add funds to and top up from their bank account and can be used anywhere Visa is accepted. This comes with the added bonus that in some places (such as North America) gamers as young as 13 can pick one of these up. However, Capcom did more than just put pretty pictures on the cards. When the card is used owners will earn points that can be used on the Capcom community website (for ever $1 added = 5points), Capcom-unity.com, users will also be rewarded by earning cash back from online or signature-based transactions and owners can earn discounts from over 750 different retailers, including iTunes. More than anything I would get one just to be the loser who thinks she is actually really cool because she has a gaming themed Visa, a simple notion that gives most geeks a massive boner. Like when you get a text message in public and you’re phone says ‘Hey, listen!’ loud enough for everyone to hear and you just sit there with a smug grin on your face, knowing only the elite of the human race will find it as amazing as you do.
The Visa, despite this being Street fighter season, will also have Resident Evil themed cards and Bionic Commando with plans to have more designs added in the future, all the cool kids can click here to sign up, and yes there are some rather annoying T&C’s
