This week is a special PMS edition of What’s in a Nam…Gamer Name! Our special guest is PMS Anarchy! She was kind enough to let me interview her about her GamerTag, now lets see what she had to say

-What is your name and what does it mean?
!#Anarchy’s the name, Counter-strike is my game! My name takes a lot of criticism, and people like to think that I am an Anarchist JUST because I chose that name. Well, I am sort of a rebel, but the real reason I chose my name was from my favorite pair of shoes from Hot Topic called “Anarchy”.

-How long have you gone by this name?
Well I have had this name for about 5-6 years now. So beware of fakers!
-From your name, do you think it affects how people view you online? What are some of your experiences with this?
Well, I would say it’s 50/50. Most people do not even think twice about my name, thinking it is just another random choice, but there are a select few that like to get into heated conversations about what it means.
Funny example, I was playing Death Match a few days ago, when this guy full out goes on a rampage against my name because he feels George Bush and the Government are doing a fantastic job. Needless to say, I keep on playing.
-How did you end up choosing your name? Was there anything the personal inspired you in coming up with your name?
Uh, not really. I used to be known as PMS Madusa, but i grew out of that name and really wanted something that kind of felt right with me. For some reason, it was my shoes that won that contest.
-Do you have experiences with people calling you by your gamer name in real life? How often?
Alllllll the time! I have met quite a few people in real life that call me by my Gamer Tag. Especially because of the publicity with PMS Clan and even at Digital Life in New York a few years ago, a lot of people would call me by Anarchy, since they didn’t even really know my real name. Even after most people learn my name, they usually call me Anarchy anyways. Or “Anarchee”, which gets a good laugh.
-Do you seem to always use this name when starting a new game? Or new character?
Yes I do, its strange hehe. I now play Guild Wars and have named all of my characters using Anarchy as the first name since you have to have a first and last. Anarchy’s F U R Y is my assassin, she rocks.
