We’ve all been waiting for the newest installation of Call of Duty, hopefully to be released November 11th, right? Well for all of you out there that plays Shooters on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, Nintendo has some really fun and interactive ways to play that may have you deciding to buy this game for multiple platforms!
First, lets start with the Nintendo Wii.

Multiplayer:
For the first time ever for the Call of Duty franchise, they are bringing multiplayer to the Wii, so you will now be able to battle with your friends on a variety of game types. The new “Squadmate Mode” is a single screen co-op mode that will allow you to plug in your Wiimote at any time and help out your friend! You’ll have your own aiming crosshair that will allow you to provide extra coverage and fire power while you two fight alongside each other. You will also be able to upgrade and customize your character by using Perks and completing challenges.

Accessories:
Improve your Call of Duty experience by using the Wii Zapper! This is Nintendo’s innovative and unique controller that integrates your Wiimote and Nunchuk. Through a customized game setting, your Wii Zapper allows you to move your player with the control stick on your Nunchuk, and shoot with the Wiimote. AND, you can use it throughout the entire game including multiplayer and Squadmate Mode! The Wii Zapper adds a new way to play by incorporating unique gestures and button layouts.
Technology:
The online multiplayer runs on the Call of duty 4: Modern Warfare engine, and the game also includes a “Combat-Look” technology. Combat-Look technology allows for complete freedom and mobility for targeting which results in a more fluid and playable Call of Duty experience. How, you ask? Well, as the player runs through the game’s environments, the vertical line of sight discreetly adapts to keep the “players focused on the battlefield without having to radically adjust for uphill/downhill grade variations in the terrain.”
Next, lets snipe out what the DS has for the new Call of Duty!

Mini-Games:
There are more than 7 types of mini-games in World at War that utilizes the unique capabilities of the stylus and the dual screen interface. You can “transmit secret messages with Morse Code, disarm mines, parachute to safety, heal fellow soldiers and provide artillery support to achieve victory on some of the most chaotic battlefields in history.”
Multiplayer:
Play online in 4-player wireless and Wi-Fi Multiplayer. This version has more than 10 maps accessible in Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, and Hunter/Prey. At any time up to 4 people can fight with or aginst each other, with access to a multitude of weapons including the MP44 machine gun, which is a fan favorite!
These are some of the amazing things that Nintendo is bringing to what’s going to be one of the most popular games this year. I’m definitely one of the fans who is excited about the new co-op; I may even stick my neck in multiplayer, only to get my head blown off of course. So get ready to have your Wii Zappers zapping and your DS stylus tapping, because this game is going to be bigger and better than ever!

I dunno, I’m more jazzed about the 360 version and online co-op myself.

I don’t know… I am so let down that they went back to WWII that I think I am going to skip this game. After what I thought was a masterpiece, and some fresh air, with CoD4 Modern Warfare, going back to WWII just seems so… done.

Yeah, but the new Co-op will be soooooo amazing and fun!! I can’t wait to finally share that experience of campaign with a friend! And since I’ve never played a WWII game (I started with CoD4) it’s gonna be pretty new to me, so I can’t wait!

I am stoked for World At War, but will probably stick to the 360 version!
