Check out some new posters of the 2009 Watchmen movie after the jump, and tell us what you think. I’m worried these posters—while great for fanboys (or fangirls, like myself)—won’t draw in people who aren’t familiar with the graphic novel. In fact, I think they’ll be turned off by them.

If you know nothing about Watchmen, do these posters make you want to see the movie? Are you impressed? What do you think about the teaser trailer (the common verdict is that it kicks ass)?
And for those of you who have read Watchmen—the twelve-comic graphic novel by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons—what do you think of the posters? ![]()

I’ll probably wait until it comes out on video. The trailer was okay, I mean, I don’t know anything about the story, and I still don’t.

Lol, yeah, that’s what my friend (who knows nothing about Watchmen) said after we saw the trailer before The Dark Knight. Well, it IS a teaser. So hopefully we’ll actually get some character-to-character dialogue in an upcoming theatrical trailer—whenever that’ll be.

I know nothing about the Watchmen, other than what I’ve read in Entertainment Weekly, but I think the posters here are highly creative and stylized. I know I’ll see it in the theater, because it’s the type of movie that appeals to me- anything fun and imaginative that isn’t bogged down in a “real life” setting… escapism is the ticket!

Yeah, big Watchmen fan here and I happen to like the posters. They are a little misleading considering the overall story of the graphic novel, but I like them and I think they will appeal to people in some manner.
