It is officially time to start your Christmas wish list – Top Cow just announced that they have formed a partnership with Graphic Image Skateboards which will bring custom Witchblade and Darkness decks to the masses. Well – not quite the masses – each deck is limited to a run of 300. But still, this is great news for any fans of the two Top Cow properties.
As an individual who is always looking to express my fandom in nontraditional ways, I am pretty giddy about this announcement. Sure, action figures are fantastic and I will always get excited about a convention exclusive comic cover – but skate decks are in a different league of cool.
If interested in getting a deck, you have several options. Both of the designs come in three varieties. First, you can get the deck only. Second, you can purchase the deck complete with trucks and wheels. Last, you can also get your hands on a limited run of decks that are signed by Top Cow CEO Marc Silvestri. Each of the categories are different price points, which are pretty affordable. I will be honest in saying that I don’t know how the price compares to other skate decks – but as someone who will drop $40 on a variant comic cover, these seem relatively inexpensive.
In addition to the Witchblade and Darkness decks, Graphic Image Skateboards is also producing a Savage Dragon deck – created by Erik Larsen and published by Image Central. The decks are made from seven plies of maple and have been printed with high-resolution graphics. Read below for more details on the items and ordering info.
